The Ehalakasa SLAM is an annual event set up to improve the poetry landscape within the country by challenging poets and spoken word artists to create new works and improve their stage craft.
The 2016 SLAM brought us slammers from Takoradi, Kumasi and Tema with the final taking place at Nubuke Foundation on 26th December, 2016. Jewell King emerged the champion and joins Mutumbo Da Poet and Hondred Percent as SLAM champions.
In 2017 Ehalakasa takes the slam to the Northern regions of Ghana to scope the talent that resides there. The finals take place in September.
