Talk Party

Ehalakasa’s TalkPARTY is a stage for the discovery of talent in Ghana. Notable artists and performers have used this platform to showcase their creativity and work. In return, they have earned prestige and respect of the art community in Ghana and have risen to become pace setters Ghana’s art history. Notable acts that have benefited from the TalkPARTY include Mutumbo Da Poet, Crystal Tettey, Kyekyeku, Poetra Asantewa, Rhymesonny, Hondred Percent, Kwame Write and many more.

From April, 2019, Ehalakasa in collaboration with the National Theater of Ghana, has been producing and hosting TalkParty on every First Thursday of the month. This is to create awareness for poetry, spoken word, the arts at large, unearth and expose talents and poetry as a medium for global development.

Talk Party as an event, is held on the first Thursday of every month.

The rate for this event is:
Gh¢20 for Regular and
Gh¢5 for Students.

NB: Proceeds from this event will be solely used to develop and advance the course of Ehalakasa.

We look forward meeting you at the Folks Place (National Theatre) on this and every first Thursday of the month.

Submit a Demo

To be a part of the Ehalakasa Talk Party performance segment, you have to submit an audio or video recording of your intended performance to Ehalakasa@gmail.com via Ehalakasa’s Whatsapp line(will be provided).

Your submission will be reviewed by the Talk Party Committee to determine whether you will make the line up of performances in the next Talk Party event.

Eligibility Criteria

All performances should not be longer than four minutes.

Ehalakasa is interested in poetry and alternative arts such as music, singing, comedy, dance, theatre and many more. Poets who read are also encouraged. Submissions that do not make the line up will be advised on reasons for their submission being declined. In some cases aspirants could be pushed to perform in the next Talk Party event.

Ehalakasa through its website and social media will alert the public on the call for submissions and its deadline. The line up for the Talk Party event will be publicised no less than a week to the event detailing the performers.

Submissions are free.

All artists that make it onto the line up list should view the performer guidelines section and adhere to it in order to perform.
